Natural Biomes 2 is really a mod that provides more biomes that experience vanilla. In addition this mod also provides variation to the biomes. For instance I've mountain, extreme hills, and normal variants of all biomes.

How exactly to install Natural Biomes 2 Mod:

Download and install Minecraft Forge
Download Natural Biomes 2 Mod
Put Natural Biomes 2 Mod zip file into your /.minecraft/mods folder. Usually do not unzip it.

Compatibility:

This mod runs on the config file to improve biome ids. If another biome mod gets the same ids as mine they'll cause chunk loading problems and load together. Modification the ids in the config file to repair this!
