If you've spent a lot of time in "Minecraft" visiting and trading with a village, you may become attached to the mobs in the town. Fortunately, there's a great way to both make your mobs feel special and help them stand out from other similar characters, and that's to tag them.
In this article, we will take a closer look at how to use name tags in Minecraft.
1. How to name tag in Minecraft work
A name tag is an item that, when placed on mobs, gives them a unique name. The name you give will show up on top of mobs whenever you get close and look at them.
Naming a mob will also make it never disappear. Meaning that if you rename a Zombie in a cave, it will stay there forever, even if you're far away. When you look back, you can still find it. However, renamed mobs can still die, at which point you will lose your Name Tag.
All mobs can be renamed, except Ender Dragon. You cannot change the name of another player.

2.1 Name the Name Card
Before you can assign a name to a creature in the crowd, you need to write the name you want on the Name Card. Fortunately, you can simply do this.
Note: You can find anvil in most villages, or craft it. The recipe is three iron blocks in the top row, one iron ingot in the middle row, and three iron ingots in the bottom row.
Please perform the following steps in turn:
Step 1: Place your anvil and use it. It will open a menu.
Step 2: Drag your Name Tag to one of the two places on the left near the top and enter its new name in the text box at the top.
Step 3: When you're ready, drag the completed Name Tag on the right back to your inventory.
Naming The name tag will cost an experience level. If you don't have enough experience, go out and kill mobs until you level up.
