Basic BuildCraft Machines Mod

What's Basic BuildCraft Machines?

This mod gives BuildCraft a more substantial role in basic Minecraft play by introducing machines and tools that improve upon vanilla machines and tools. That is much like Thermal Expansion , however, not nearly as ambitious.

Basic Machine Frame

This blocks primary role is really as a crafting ingredient for several of another machines in this mod. The config file enables you to enable an alternative solution crafting recipe in the event that one conflicts with another mod.
Iron Furnace

The Iron Furnace uses BuildCraft energy to cook items. The interface shows a temperature dial. The more energy you supply the Iron furnace, the hotter it gets. The hotter it gets, the faster it smelts (though it becomes just a little less energy conserving). However, the Iron Furnace must reach the very least operating temperature to cook. If the dial is in the blue, then it isn't hot enough to cook anything. When installed to an individual Stirling Engine (the BuildCraft engine that burns coal for energy), the Iron Furnace is slightly faster and much more efficient when compared to a vanilla Minecraft furnace, but only once smelting a lot more than 20 items (otherwise, enough time it requires to heat-up contradicts the increased speed).

A redstone comparator mounted on an Iron Furnace outputs a sign proportional to the amount of items in the input slot of the Iron Furnace. Applying a redstone signal to the machine disables it (it is possible to put a lever on this block). The usage of that is demonstrated below in the Storage Cell section.

Storage Cell

The Storage Cell stores around 10 000 MJ (exact number at the mercy of change). The very best and bottom (blue) are input and the sides (red) are output. The interface runs on the dial to show the quantity of charge and two linear gauges showing just how much current is flowing in (left, blue tick) and out (right, red tick). Applying a redstone signal stops the Storage Cell from sending out energy, but will not stop it from receiving energy. A redstone comparator mounted on the Storage Cell will released a sign proportional to the charge of the storage cell. Picking right up a storage cell discharges it.

The utility of the block is demonstrated in the images below. In this build, the stirling engines are automatically activated to recharge the Storage Cell, which only outputs energy whenever there are sufficient items in the Iron Furnace prepared to be smelted.

Charger

The Charger uses BuildCraft energy to recharge pneumatic tools. The power per point of charge is quite high (8 automagically, configurable), keeping the rechargeable tools from being overpowered. It is possible to feed-in items that have to be recharged with a hopper/pipe. Once the item is fully charged, a hopper within the charger (or perhaps a wooden transport pipe) will need that out. A redstone comparator close to this machine will output a sign proportional to the amount of charge of the tool inside. Like all machines in this mod, it is possible to stick a lever on the block and disable it with a redstone signal.

You should use the charger with other mods with the addition of that ID of repairable/rechargeable items as a comma separated list in the additional_Rechargeable_Items property of the config file (e.g. additional_Rechargeable_Items=283,284,285,286 can make all gold tools repairable in the charger).

Light Box

The light box simply runs on the little bit of BuildCraft energy to light-up a location. You can use is really as an indicator or pair it with a storage cell to produce a longterm lighting system. Like all machines in this mod, it is possible to stick a lever on the block and disable it with a redstone signal.

Tools

Pneumatic Motor

This item may be the crafting component found in every one of the tool recipes in this mod. It can nothing alone.

Pneumatic Hammer

The pneumatic hammer is really a rechargeable pickaxe which has a digging rate equal to a diamond pickaxe. Pneumatic tools can't be enchanted with magic, so think before investing your diamonds.

Remember that this tool will not start off with a complete charge and must be charged in the Charger machine after crafting for this to work.

Pneumatic Saw

The pneumatic saw may be the rechargeable equal to an axe. It chops wood rapidly, a must have for just about any BuildCraft lumberjack. Pneumatic tools can't be enchanted with magic, so think before investing your diamonds.

Remember that this tool will not start off with a complete charge and must be charged in the Charger machine after crafting for this to work.

Pneumatic Gun

The pneumatic gun rapidly fires arrows, though it isn't quite as powerful as a completely drawn bow. Requires arrows to fire. Pneumatic tools can't be enchanted with magic.

Remember that this tool will not start off with a complete charge and must be charged in the Charger machine after crafting for this to work.
