Mending is hard to come by, but it’s well worth the effort if you want to keep your armor in good form.
Enchantments are a great way to boost your strength and ability to survive in the wild against critters in Minecraft. Mending is a rare enchantment that allows you to mend your enchanted item with experience orbs rather than laying it on the anvil and using diamonds to fix it. It is one of the best enchantments in the game.
Mending in Minecraft is difficult to come by because to its high level of power, but if you’ve been playing for a while and want to keep your armor in good form, it’s absolutely worth. Here are ten helpful suggestions for mending.
1. Why Is Mending The Best Option?
Mending is a spell that allows you to use experience orbs to recharge the durability bar of an enchanted item. Usually, you’ll have to combine an enchanted item with its core material in an anvil to immobilize it. If you have a diamond sword enchanted, you can restore its durability by mixing it with the diamonds in your anvil.
However, you’ll need a lot of diamonds depending on how often you do this and how pricey your enchantments are. So Mending is preferable because it saves resources and instead restores durability with experience points.

2. Enchantment of the Treasure
Most enchantments in Minecraft are level-dependent, which means you can’t receive them until you have enough levels to pay for them at the enchanting table. Because the best enchantments demand a level 30, it’s always wiser to wait till then.
However, healing is not a spell available at the anesthetic table. It is classified as a “prize charm”, which means it can only be found in spells books scattered around the planet. It is why it is a valuable and rare item in your collection.
3. Incompatibilities
Imagine you have an enchanted book with Mending on it. And you want to use on a tool you already own. Glue can be used on almost any tool or piece of armor, including Trident and Elytra. They are all good things to use Patch Glue because their repair costs are expensive or impossible to fix.
However, remember that Mending cannot be used with a bow with Infinity. Although this will be the ultimate weapon, the developers believe that it is too powerful, that’s why it cannot survive in life.

4. Mending Is Enchanting
So, once you’ve found a book with Mending on it, you’ll need to choose an item of armor or a tool to use it on. Please choose carefully because it’s a rare and expensive enchantment. Make sure you put it on a diamond-encrusted item or piece of gear to get the full advantages.
To attach Mending to a tool or piece of armor, use an anvil to fuse the book and the tool or armor in question. You’ll need a lot of iron to make an anvil, but it’s a worthwhile investment.
5. Fishing
Going fishing is one of the first places you can look for a Mending book. Unless you’re super lucky, you’ll probably be sitting around for a while with a standard, unenchanted fishing rod. You have to enchant your fishing rod to increase your chances of receiving an enchanted book.
Unbreaking III and Luck of the Sea III are two helpful enchantments for your fishing pole. The former will prolong the life of your pole, while the latter will boost your chances of discovering riches such as charmed books while fishing.
6. Chests
Another option is you walk out and explore different places such as dungeons, mineshafts, End Cities… These regions will almost always have some enchanted books, though the chances of discovering Mending in particular will be slim.
Your best bet is to look for desert temples with four chests hidden beneath the ground floor. There’s a good chance one of the chests will contain an enchanted book, so head to your nearest desert area and start looking.
7. Trading
Trading is a good alternative if you want a more efficient strategy that includes preparation and cultivation. You might get lucky and encounter a villager with a Mending trade if you walk into a village. But you’ll usually have to trade with them first to unlock better trade items..
You can also start a villager farm, which will provide you with many newly created villagers for you to trade until you locate someone who has Mending. Even though it takes some grinding, this is probably the best strategy in terms of probability.
8. Raids
If you’re near a village, it may be the target of a villager raid at some point. Although your first instinct may be to flee, fighting the invaders is preferable because of the benefits you might earn.
The Villagers may drop enchanted books as a reward if you’re lucky enough, although this isn’t the most effective technique and isn’t very likely to happen. The majority of it is highly reliant on chance.
9. Vindicators
A Woodland Mansion is a final site where you might come upon a Mending book. However, because these constructions are hundreds of blocks away and occur infrequently, they aren’t the best place to look for your Mending book.
If you find Woodland Manor you’ll be pleased to know that Vindicators occasionally drop enchanted books. Furthermore, these books may include high-level enchantments such as Mending, so it’s always worth a try.
10. The Value of XP Farms
Once you’ve enchanted your gear and weapons with Mending, you’ll need to keep a steady stream of experience points coming in to keep their durability meters filled. Building XP farms is the best way to do this.
Sure that you’re holding a tool in your right or left hand while absorbing experience points to replenish it. You won’t be able to acquire any experience until your tools are fixed, so keep that in mind as well.
